Fashion Show 2009

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Sarasota Surface Design Fashion Show "Divas Gone Wild" Gallery.
The members of our guild walked the runway with an accompaniment on the violin by Angela Ruffino, a very talented local musician. Diane Bunker did a wonderful job putting together both last year and this year's fashion show and provided us with delicious hor'dourves and beverages which we enjoyed after the show.

patsy models a jean dress that she "Upcycled" into something new with stencils of bamboo that she discharged also a loom shawl and a felted purse.

It's as pretty coming as it is going!

Lois models one of her triangle loom woven shawls

Here's Cheryl in an Upcycled Sweat Shirt Jacket! The felted wool flower pin sets it off nicely.

And a different look altogether when she adds a ruffle to the front

This is the back of Lois' woven shawl showing a triangle embellishment made from polymer clay. (I couldn't get the front- it was too blurred)

Here is Cheryl in a lovely purple sweatshirt/jacket- she makes it look so easy!

Laura in her Journey Woman (work in progress) jacket now embellished with yoyo's and embroidery and beadwork. She says she may never finish it- but it is the journey and not the destination- right?

Lois in another lovely woven piece- almost caught her as she turned...

In 2010 we are having everyone stop for a second so we can get a good picture-

Shelli models for Betsy- a fabulous Upcycled jean jacket with crocheted embellishments

I wish this were a better photo- everyone was moving so fast! I loved the tie with the jean skirt upcycled with silk tie car wash fringe

So awesome!Great idea and use of vintage ties.

Sorry that these weren't clear and I know that there were a lot I didn't get because they were blurry or unusable- maybe at our Christmas meeting some of you could bring your stuff and we could do a photo shoot to add here- like the great bags made from cowboy boots and a bra by Bettie- I tried but they were too blurred to use....
