  • Waldemere Fire Station Upstairs Classroom

Our May meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 8th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Upstairs Classroom at the Waldemere Fire Station. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for those who wish to socialize before the meeting begins.

Connie Burnett and Annette Coats will be our speakers at the meeting.  They will be addressing the techniques associated with Contemporary European Encaustic Painting. .

Encaustic Art (the art of painting with molten wax) was practiced more than 2,500 years ago by burning colored wax into an absorbent surface such as wood or canvas.  The method taught by Connie and Annette is commonly used in Europe where a low-heat iron or stylus is used to apply colored bees wax onto a non-absorbent surface.

The cost of the workshop is $10.00 and there will be a $15.00 kit fee. You can sign up at the meeting for the workshop being held on May 27th.
